Wishing you & your families a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! I hope you take time away from social media (IG, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Kik, Pinterest, etc) to be with the people in your life, focus on what’s in front of you. So stop that selfie, put the phone down and have fun!
Often, the end of the year is a time for reflection. You look back on good times and wish they would never end. With the good times, there are bad and you question whether or not you could have done things differently. You wonder if you held back those harsh words or if you didn’t overreact, how differently your life would look today.
Good or bad, you have to find the lessons in your experiences. Look back on your mistakes and figure out if those mistakes are costing you your most important relationships. While you might think you are building relationships on social, how many of those people would be there for you if you called them with a real problem? How many people would open their hearts and their homes to you?
With this thought, I’ve decided to take a break from social media until the New Year to reconnect with friends and family in real life (IRL). Maybe take a few pictures to commemorate events, then take a break from posting to be in the moment.
Here are some questions to think about as we close another year.
Do you spend quality time with the people who are important to you?
What can you do to make the time you spend together more meaningful?
Are you spending time doing what you love?
What would you change in the coming year to live the life you want?
What are your thoughts?
